Grandfather Antonio Oxté, born Manuel Antonio Oxté León in 1949 in Tzucacab, Yucatán, is a revered guardian of Mayan wisdom and ancestral healing practices. From a young age, he was introduced to the sacred arts of massage and healing by his maternal grandmother, laying the foundation for his lifelong dedication to preserving and sharing Mayan medicinal traditions. Pursuing higher education, Grandfather Antonio earned a degree in Social Anthropology from the National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH) in Mexico City. Concurrently, he delved into the philosophical realms of Freemasonry, attaining its highest degrees. In 1995, following transformative personal experiences, he chose to leave his commercial pursuits behind, embarking on a profound seven-year pilgrimage from Mexico to Patagonia. During this journey, he immersed himself in various Indigenous communities, exchanging knowledge and deepening his understanding of universal love, peace, and self-realization.
Since 2007, Grandfather Antonio has resided near the ancient Maya settlement of Sisbichén, Yucatán, where he established the Clínica del Alma (Soul Clinic). This sanctuary offers physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, reflecting his commitment to holistic well-being. Beyond healing, he actively engages in reforestation efforts and protecting endangered flora and fauna, embodying a harmonious relationship with nature. As the founder of Jardines del Colibrí Dorado A.C., a nonprofit organization, he champions sustainable development, cultural preservation, and holistic health within the Mayan community. To foster collective consciousness, his initiatives encompass educational and artistic programs aimed at transmitting ancestral traditions—such as music, dance, poetry, and storytelling.
The City of Mayan Light—Maya Ancestral Medicine Center is a cornerstone of his vision, dedicated to safeguarding and disseminating sacred Mayan healing practices. This center serves as a refuge for individuals seeking to reconnect with Indigenous wisdom, offering traditional healing ceremonies and educational programs designed to inspire a global movement toward consciousness and holistic well-being. Grandfather Antonio’s influence extends internationally. He is Honorary World President of the Unión Hispano Mundial de Escritores y Poetas (UHE) in Lima, Peru. He is an active poet within the Venezuelan Society of Art and Literature.
Additionally, he has collaborated with the World Encounter for Human Values in Monterrey, Mexico, contributing to its mission of establishing the city as a global hub for compassion and the arts by 2030. As a devoted guardian of Mayan wisdom, Grandfather Antonio embodies the principles of gratitude, unity, and love. Through his life’s work, he continues to inspire and guide others on healing, harmony, and the awakening of consciousness.
